What I specialize in
I am a seasoned urban planner, architect, and advocate for walkable cities, committed to transforming car-centric urban sprawl into people-centred, nature-positive environments. With nearly two decades of experience in holistic urban design and regeneration, I specialise in water-sensitive urbanism, sustainable mobility, and integrating a gender-responsive approach to city planning. I lead Studio Divercity, an international consultancy that blends urban design, policy advocacy, and public forums to regenerate the built environment, with the core mission of advancing the wellbeing of people and the planet.
Previous projects
As project lead in Paris-based integrated urban planning agencies, I have successfully conceived and coordinated large-scale strategic master plans and localised block-scale projects, collaborating with diverse professionals across disciplines. Overcoming cultural and linguistic barriers, I have built a career across three continents, leading urbanism workshops worldwide. I spearheaded #MontevideoPacificada, a multifaceted campaign advocating for walking and cycling through road culture awareness and street design improvements in Montevideo. I have contributed to international public policy briefs on sustainable mobility for organisations like Walk21. I have designed a multidisciplinary course to break municipal silos, integrating sustainable mobility, water management, density, and gender-responsive planning. I am currently building a social impact, climate action startup Streetsmart to empower local governments and communities in creating walkable streets and resilient cities.
