What I specialize in

I am a plant scientist specializing in agroforestry, plant physiology, and plant pathology. My passion for sustainable agriculture led me to implement these practices on my own farm in tropical far north Queensland (Australia), growing food where the rainforest meets the farm - sustainably, spray-free and syntropically. In addition to my work on the farm, I am an academic currently working as a postdoctoral researcher for coffee agroforestry projects in Uganda and Indonesia exploring the dynamics of innovative farming techniques and their environmental impact. I offer consulting services for the private sector, providing expertise to businesses looking to integrate sustainable practices into their operations. Furthermore, I am the co-creator of educational projects such as "Forest Doctors" and "Build a Robot" day, designed to engage and inspire rural youth about the importance of sustainability, technology, and agriculture. Through these initiatives, I aim to bridge the gap between practical farming, scientific innovation and youth mentorship.

Previous projects

I have worked in the EU funded BREEDCAFS project (https://www.breedcafs.eu/), as a consultant for CIAT/Biodiversity Alliance Regenerative Farming for Coffee in East Africa (https://www.cgiar.org/research/publication/regenerative-agriculture-coffee-farming-systems-handbook-practitioners-uganda/ and https://cgspace.cgiar.org/items/8d21eef3-43d8-423e-893b-ba47b20229a8) and as a postdoctoral research in the international project called "Agroforestry Paradox - climate Clever Coffee (APPCO) http://drp.dfcentre.com/project/the-agroforestry-paradox-climate-clever-coffee-apcco/ I also serve on the editorial board of Agroforestry Systems journal, CABI Plant Health Cases and the British Society for Plant Pathology (responsible for the Education grants).

How can I help you

Consulting on project-term basis to conduct analysis, literature reviews or development of specialised documents relating to my core areas of expertise. Conducting independent field trials for sustainable products or approaches in farming systems. Guest speaking for a wide audience (from general public to academic). Agricultural advisor or planner (for new or renovated tropical farming systems).
