Product description

AirJoule A1000 — Atmospheric Water Generation System is a cutting-edge solution designed to tackle water scarcity in arid and semi-arid regions through innovative technology and sustainable practices. The system is capable of generating up to 1,000 litres of pure, PFAS-free distilled water from air, with an impressive energy efficiency of less than 200 Wh per litre.

The A1000 operates by drawing air through sorbent-coated contactors that selectively capture water vapour. Subsequently, a vacuum is applied, and heat is introduced to distil the captured moisture into liquid water. The resulting water undergoes a series of processes including condensation, filtration, and treatment to meet NSF-compliant standards, ensuring its safety for drinking and industrial use. Moreover, the dry air exhaust from the system can be repurposed as an input for HVAC systems, enhancing overall efficiency.

This atmospheric water generation system is designed to function effectively across various temperature and humidity levels, making it suitable for deployment in diverse climates. Its modular and scalable nature allows for versatile applications in data centres, agriculture, military operations, off-grid communities, and industrial manufacturing. By integrating waste heat from industrial processes, the A1000 not only reduces operational costs but also minimizes its carbon footprint, contributing to environmental sustainability.

Key characteristics and environmental benefits

Key Characteristics

  • Generates up to 1,000 litres of pure distilled water per cycle from atmospheric moisture
  • Energy consumption of less than 200 Wh per litre — over 10x more efficient than alternatives in arid conditions
  • Operates across a wide range of temperatures and humidity levels
  • Integrates with industrial waste heat to reduce operating costs
  • Modular and scalable for commercial and industrial deployment
  • NSF-compliant water quality — safe for drinking and industrial use
  • No refrigerants used in the water production process
  • Produces PFAS-free distilled water
  • Dry air exhaust can be repurposed as an HVAC input
  • Connects to standard power supply; mobile units also available

Environmental benefits

  • Addresses water scarcity by creating a distributed, decentralised water source requiring no groundwater or surface water extraction
  • Eliminates use of environmentally harmful refrigerants found in conventional cooling and dehumidification systems
  • Leverages industrial waste heat, turning an energy by-product into a productive resource
  • Produces zero liquid discharge in its core process
  • Reduces dependence on water transport infrastructure and its associated emissions
  • Battery designed for continuous monitoring to extend operational life and support responsible end-of-life management
  • Enables water-positive operations at data centres, one of the world's fastest-growing water consumers

About the Company

AirJoule Technologies is an American clean technology company on a mission to free the world from its water and energy constraints. Using proprietary sorption technology based on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), AirJoule has developed a platform that extracts moisture directly from the atmosphere and converts it into pure, PFAS-free distilled water — without refrigerants and with a fraction of the energy required by conventional atmospheric water generation systems. The company addresses one of the most pressing challenges of our time: global water scarcity. With operations and development facilities across Delaware, New York, and Montana, AirJoule is scaling its technology for a wide range of applications including industrial water generation, data center sustainability, agricultural irrigation, off-grid communities, and military operations. AirJoule is backed by a network of world-class strategic partners including GE Vernova, Carrier Global, CATL, BASF, and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. The company has active deployments on three continents, has been selected as a winner of the Net Zero Innovation Hub competition — collaborating with Google, Microsoft, and other industry leaders — and was named Water Tech Innovation of the Year at the 2026 CleanTech Breakthrough Awards. AirJoule is already doing business and actively scaling commercially.
